Nicole N. Balmer, M.D. is a dermatopathologist with Ketchum, Wood & Burgert Pathology Associates. She is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and in Dermatopathology. Dr. Balmer is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and completed medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB). She did a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where she served as the president of the Housestaff Association during her final year. Following residency, she completed a surgical pathology fellowship/instructorship at UAB and a dermatopathology fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Balmer has authored or co-authored nearly twenty publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. In addition, she has been active in presenting at national pathology and dermatopathology meetings, and in the education of both dermatology and pathology residents. She is a member of the International Society of Dermatopathology, the College of American Pathology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Clinical Pathology and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
