Cytopathology

In a time when the practice of cytopathology has come under such close scrutiny, we continue to believe that excellence is essential in performance and service.

Ketchum, Wood & Burgert Pathology Associates' staff of cytotechnologists provides cytology services for all body sites, including gynecologic pathology (Pap Tests), fine needle aspirations of all superficial and deep organs, fluids from all sites, and urinary tract cytology. Complete special studies are available, including special stains and flow cytometry, when required.

Our commitment to quality is demonstrated by the time and attention afforded to each Pap Test we receive. Ketchum, Wood & Burgert Pathology Associates' cytotechnologists dedicate themselves to detail, never operating under quota requirements, and consult daily with pathologists in the laboratory. All work is performed on-site using state-of-the-art liquid-based methods. Slide files are maintained for correlation with current cervical biopsies and Pap Tests. Quality control and improvement procedures in the laboratory exceed all national and state standards. These policies and procedures help provide the highest caliber Pap Test service for the physician, while maintaining the highest level of concern for the individual patient.
