Patient Portal

If your Practice is involved with gynecology or obstetrics, you are well aware of the potential for a high volume of patient pathology pap results. To assist with your Practice's call volume, Ketchum, Wood & Burgert Pathology Associates provides, as a courtesy, a results Patient Portal. The Patient Portal is a web-based tool that allows your patients to securely and privately access their pap results on-line.

Here is how it works:

  • Ketchum, Wood & Burgert Pathology Associates, working with your Practice, will assign each patient a unique identifier
  • The unique identifier, which is communicated to the patient, is assigned to the patient's Pathology pap results
  • Using a web browser, the patient:
    • accesses the secure Patient Portal website
    • provides the unique identifier and additional items to confirm their identity
    • reviews their results on-line
In order to avoid misunderstanding and misrepresentation, only negative pap results are communicated to the patient on-line. All other results require the patient to contact your Practice.

The results are presented using one of the following three messages:

  • Your Pap result is unavailable. Please try again at a later time.
  • Your Pap result is Negative/Normal.
  • Please contact your physician regarding your Pap result.
For Practices that have implemented the Patient Portal, results checked on-line have accounted for as much as 30% of the Practice's total Pathology pap cases.
