Our Mission

To foster a caring, supportive relationship and coordination of medical care through your physician. We recognize that each test represents a patient who deserves our individualized attention. Our long standing commitment is to provide services to local and surrounding communities with a caring tradition and commitment to excellence.

Our History

For more than half a century Ketchum, Wood & Burgert Pathology Associates has been providing independent laboratory cytology and surgical pathology diagnostics to the medical community of the Florida panhandle. Founded in 1949, the group has grown to nine pathologists, who are licensed in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. The laboratory meets all federal and State of Florida licensure requirements and is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Our technical staff works to ensure a rapid turnaround time and accurate results, which helps the physicians we assist in the care and treatment of their patients.

KWB provides consultation and medical direction of clinical laboratories to facilities and practices throughout the region.

KWB has worked closely with clinical colleagues over the years as members and officers of various societies and associations. These include the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, American Medical Association, International Academy of Pathologists, National and Florida Association of Medical Examiners, Florida Medical Association, as well as held presidencies of the College of American Pathologists, the Florida Society of Pathologists and Capital Medical Society.
